(Ref. No. BC - 13) Marie Curie Fellowship: Structures with modified thermodynamic Properties

"Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge position on Structures with modified thermodynamic properties

A 12 month Marie Curie fellowship is open for an experience researcher to investigate spectrally and spatially coherent effects in thermally excited sources both theoretically and experimentally. Recently discovered thermal coherent effects will be further investigated to increase the emissivity of a material and control which wavelengths are emitted. The thermodynamics of such systems will be explored taking into account modified electron and photon density of states, and structures with modified thermal properties will be designed and produced. Such structures could have an impact in heat extraction, power transfer or broad spectral emission applications. The applicant should have a strong knowledge of thermodynamics and be prepared to assist in fabricating and testing these structures.

To apply, email a covering letter stating your suitability for and reasons for interest in this position, a full C.V. and list of published works and names and contact details of at least 2 referees (including your PhD and/or post doc advisors). The Tyndall National Institute is an equal opportunity organisation and encourages both men and women to apply for the position.

As this position is supported by the EU Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge programme the applicant should not have worked in Ireland for more than 3 months during the last 3 years.
