This is a fantastic opportunity for a Radiographer with some experience and strong interest in ultrasound to join an organisation which is in an exciting stage of its development. One role will be available in Cork and one in Dublin. This organisation is constantly expanding and there are unlimited opportunities for development for candidates who are ambitious and driven.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure a consistent and efficient delivery of the ultrasound / radiography service and promote effective, professional practice by example and instruction.
• Maintain individual professional competence and currency in sonography; complying with organisational policies and procedures including safety, QA and KPIs.
• Support marketing, delivery and quality of, products and services and liaise with doctors, patient, suppliers and subcontractors as required.
• Compliance with policies, procedures and protocol.
• Ensure that the organisation and its mission, processes, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Participate in external organisational meetings when necessary.
• The role is committed to overseeing and ensuring a safe and hazard free workplace with accepted standards for the delivery of diagnostic medical services. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all duties and responsibilities of the post are carried out in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2005. This will be supported by the provision of training and specialist advice where required.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing are required. The ability to develop and deliver a strong presentation is also necessary. The ability to interpret complex communication, both verbally and in writing, is also essential.
• Must possess excellent reasoning ability and must be able to analyse problems, identify alternative solutions, select and implement the best alternative, and communicate the logic behind the decision to others.
• Strong mathematical skills are essential. The post holder must be able to make financial recommendations as per the business case procedure.
• Maintains a high degree of clinical expertise, ensuring awareness of current developments in medical imaging and that best practice is of the highest priority.
• Acts as a role model and clinical expert to facilitate the development of others through education and example. Support the GM in the implementation and maintenance of an education and training programme for all team members. Actively participates in the professional development of all staff.
• Supports the GM in ensuring that imaging practice standards are monitored and kept current, to maintain a high quality service.
• Facilitates assessment of work practices, identifying areas of change required, implementation of change and evaluation of effectiveness via clinical audit. Proactively supports colleagues in implementing innovative practice, where appropriate.
• Researches, summarizes and analyzes information; calculates statistics and compiles data to prepare relevant management information, as required.
• Assists in the implementation of new policies, procedures or practices impacted by decisions made by CEO, Directors, GM or the external health economy.
• Serves as liaison to all, staff, patients, outside suppliers and the public concerning information or complaints.
• Supports the GM in the recruitment and selection of staff, as required.
• May supervise, monitor or coordinate the activities of subordinates.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, malfunction, downtime and performance as required and co-ordinates preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with clinical demand.
Requirements:
• Primary Qualification in Radiography.
• Validation with the Department of Health and Children is necessary.
• Ideally at least 3 years post graduate experience in radiography and mammography.
