BJIEMBA/COL/131008/04 -- A Senior Radiographer is sought to join the team in Accident and Emergency and Orthopaedics. The ideal candidate will be experienced in A&E and Orthopaedic imaging and will be capable of providing a patient focused professional service. The postholder will need to have some managerial experience as they will be required to lead the service through changing and challenging times in conjunction with the superintendent radiographer. The successful candidate will also be required to support the radiographic team who currently undertake the majority of the skeletal reporting in A/E.
Responsibilities:
• To work alongside the A&E Superintendent to integrate the A&E and Orthopaedic services.
• To participate in the A&E oncall service.
• To work in conjunction with the A&E and Orthopaedic Superintendent to improve service delivery for the benefit of the patient.
• To maintain high clinical standards, particularly regarding patient care, clinical risk and health and safety.
• To liaise with other healthcare professionals and departmental staff on a daily basis to ensure the optimal care for patients.
• To be committed to professional development and to develop own knowledge, practise and development.
• To participate in the training of students.
• To be a leader in quality assurance in the A&E and Orthopaedic Departments.
• To understand the implications of the Health and Safety at work act and ensure a safe working environment for Patients, Staff and visitors.
Requirements:
• Primary Degree/Diploma in Radiography.
• Registration with the Health Professionals Council, UK.
• Ideally you will already possess of a post graduate diploma in clinical reporting (appendicular and axial skeleton) or a post graduate certificate in appendicular skeletal reporting.
