BJIEBM/SD 0912266 -- The Cardiac department is recruiting a Cardiac Physiologist who is committed to working as part of a team environment. This hospital appreciates that finding good employees is very difficult and therefore they place huge investment in keeping their employees happy. The hospital wants to provide a cost effective, high quality service and is committed to reducing waiting times for all investigations to 2 weeks. The successful candidate will be joining a team of experienced staff that are committed to their patients. Also providing hands on training for technicians, either peers, junior staff, specialist registrars or junior doctors. The main core of the hospital is the patient is priority.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide specialist expertise across a range of standard and complex echocardiography (transthoracic, transoesophageal, stress, contrast, tissue doppler, 3D, paediatric and congenital).
Work as an independent practitioner within a team.
Independently report on all investigations undertaken, be accountable for own working standards. Offer advice to referring clinician as appropriate.
Provide support for all members of the echocardiography team both specialist and rotational.
Assist with organising timetables and clinic lists to fully utilise available resources.
Assist in the development of departmental protocols and procedures to maintain a high quality service.
Participate in audit processes.
Review technical standards on a regular basis using audit and appraisal systems.
Devise educational opportunities for junior members of staff and students.
Participate in the appraisal process to identify learning and personal development needs.
Assist with the appraisal process for named members of staff.
Provide training to staff from other disciplines as required.
Other technical responsibilities
Able to demonstrate ability to perform other cardiac investigations and if required support other staff members with these investigations.
Deliver appropriate patient care at all times, monitor and respond appropriately to changes in a patients clinical status.
Attend regular multidisciplinary case conferences.
Participate in audit programmes.
Regularly review own professional development and discuss with Service Lead to organise any training needs.
Attend meetings as required, departmental, Trust and any other meetings relevant to service provision.
Plan and prioritise workloads.
Requirements:
Degree in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent professional training.
RCCP Registration as a Cardiac Physiologist.
To have 4years experience in Cardiology
ILS.
BSE Accreditation
A proven competency to independently perform varied and accurate basic and advanced echocardiogram tests.
