This busy department is committed to raising the standards of Cardiology provision for its patients within this unit. The hospital is seeking to recruit experienced staff to join their friendly and committed team. The main core of the hospital is the patient is priority. This service is recruiting a basic cardiac technician to join their team of multi-skilled professionals.
Responsibilities:
• Monitoring, recording and interpretation of 12 Lead and signal averaged E.C.G.’s
• Conduct a full range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests
• Electrophysiology Studies and Ablations.
• Holter monitoring: hook-up, analysis and interpretation.
• Ambulatory Blood Pressure monitoring
• Stress testing Medical and Technician managed stress tests.
• Cardiac rehab, Rapid Access chest pain clinic stress tests
• Full knowledge of cardiac resuscitation and cardiac drugs.
• To act for other staff in their absence as required.
• The Technician will be responsible for the care and cleanliness of all equipment and accessories used by him/her.
• Provide first line maintenance, electrical safety checking and calibration of equipment.
• As medical procedures change and new developments are introduced the technician must update his/her knowledge and training accordingly and participate with research when necessary.
• Perform other such duties appropriate to the officer as may be assigned to him/her from time to time.
• Perform other such duties pertaining to Clinical Governance, Health and safety in the workplace and Quality improvement as assigned to him/her by the department
Requirements
• You should hold a B.T.E.C./HNC MPPM or BSE/Hons/Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
RCCP registered, ILS, B.S.E./B.P.E.G. Professional Competency is desirable.
• To be professionally responsible for all aspects of the post holders own work.
• Have an understanding and knowledge of all new developments in the field of Cardiology.
• Ensuing that all records are properly and accurately maintained.
• To respect patient confidently and excellent communicator.
• To participate in research or audit as required.
