One of 21 District Health Boards in New Zealand, Waitemta District Health Board (WDHB) provides and funds health and disability services to a population of 500,000 residing within North Shore, Waitakere and Rodney districts. WDHB has the largest and second fastest growing population in the country, is the largest secondary healthcare provider and the sixth largest DHB in terms of revenue.
WDHB provides medical, surgical, maternity, mental health and addiction, dental, community health and support services through North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals and a number of community sites within its district.
WDHB also provides regional services which include alcohol and drug services and a school dental service for the Auckland Region, forensic psychiatric services at Mason Clinic and child disability services at Wilson Centre for Auckland and Northland Regions.
